at peace

After my dramatic trauma post earlier, I did the only thing I could under the circumstances.

Took some time away from the story and dyed my hair* bright red.

I've decided not to contact the organisers of the competition to ask them if I can ammend my entry. It's against the rules, it could piss them off, and I don't want that.

Also, and importantly, on re-reading the whole thing as it is now, unexpectedly, it works. So I am letting it go away to do its thing.

*and most of myself, the bathroom, and several towels

Good news - that the story still works, that is. Good news also that you dyed your hair ... I was a little worried - it IS the color of blood. I used to be a cherry redhead myself.

That looks like a crimescene photo.

How annoying - I bet you'll never make that mistake again now. Maybe it will turn out for the best - time will tell.

I did worry after I'd posted this post, esp with the 'at peace' title, that it could be a pretty worrying sight on anyone's 'Blog updates' list. He he.

Thanks Tessa. I think it's all going to be okay. And I'm very happy with the hair. It's brightened me up no end.

Hey Paul, yeah - I think I may have learnt a lesson. Ahem. Whatever happens with the results of the comp, it's all good.
